K,

Since regaining my freedom, I've been toiling away in the docks of Meletis, trying to keep a low profile. But recently the city was devastated by Thassa's wrath. The Twelve have requested emissaries travel to her allies to secure disaster relief in the form of food and supplies for the reeling refugees. When I heard one of those destinations was Neolantika, I felt compelled to sign up. I wonder if I will see you there. Have you moved on? Are you still alive?

Red Hand of Doom - Session 43: Inside Castle Amber: Death and Darkness

August 6 - Day 3

After a short rest, the Daring Friends explored the sacrificial chamber. A statue of a halberd-wielding wearing unfamiliar garb stood to the north. Gruffudd used Thunderwave to destroy the sacrificial circle. Camwise found a map of the grounds and a priest’s journal containing several scrolls (Enervating Light, Dispel Good & Evil, Commune, Raise Dead).

Red Hand of Doom - Session 41: Inside Castle Amber: Theater of the Jabberwock

August 6 - Day 2

Waking, the Daring Friends did not recall ever stopping to rest. A wild-looking bearded man stared down at them. Looking around, they found themselves near a small, ramshackle stone building in a clearing with a cave entering a nearby hill. The man spoke in a foreign language while he swung a cudgel in the air.

Red Hand of Doom - Session 40: Inside Castle Amber: The Inner Garden

August 6 - Day 1

Challenging the rock troll, Balthasar dashed atop the log bridge. Dameron hit it with a Sacred Flame as his wolves blasted it with cold breath. Gruffudd hit it with a Thunderwave. Impacted by the cold and thunder, the troll leaped off the log, grappled Gruffudd and Dameron, and took a bite out of the dwarf.

Red Hand of Doom - Session 39: Inside Castle Amber: The Garden

Red Hand of Doom - Session 36-37: Return to Brindol

August 5

After two days of flying, the Daring Friends arrived at Brindol as the sun was settings on the night of August 5. Only a few miles from Brindol's western border, the campfires revealed the massive size of the Red Hand horde waiting there. Brindolian workers were hastily retrieving the last of the wheat from the fields and some were being attacked by Red Hand skirmishers. It appeared the Daring Friends had returned just in time.

Red Hand of Doom - Session 35: To Brindol

July 19-24

July 19-22

After receiving daily updates saying, "The smelters are at work. They will find the truth." on the morning of the 20th they were brought out of their cells to meet Idnerth and another dwarf of noble bearing with a familial resemblance, Idnerth’s well-dressed cousin, Gurhyr.

Red Hand of Doom - Session 31-33: The Dwarven Tomb

July 18-19

In the morning, Idnerth explained that a tomb a half-day into the mountain needed to be resealed. The Daring Friends, joined by Idnerth and Ssicarus, a yuan-ti sorcerer, headed toward the tomb. Ssicarus sent his invisible flying snake familiar to scout ahead.

When Dameron awoke, he recalled his Premonition: “Do not destroy them [the Greenspawn Eggs] in haste—perhaps they may be redeemed. Their destruction would be devastating for your scaled companion.”

Red Hand of Doom - Session 23: Wyrmlord Saarvith & Regiriax

July 8

In the morning, the Daring Friends felt much better. Protected by his Monastic Austerity, Dameron cast Transfer Exhaustion, absorbing some of the fatigue from Camwise, who began investigating the various components and arcanum, casting Detect Magic and Identify when necessary.

Red Hand of Doom - Session 21-22: Ghoslty Institute

July 7

As the Daring Friends rowed toward Lordrhest, they passed by the region of ghostly presences and saw a tower leaning in the distance.

Escape

Reverb takes a seat in one of the Lamda shuttle’s cargo holds where he made a makeshift bed for Hest’s unconscious body.

“You would have been proud today, Hest. Trager got captured with the droid on the way from Jaden’s ship and we had to retrieve him.

Fishes

Things were looking pretty grim for Hest and especially Argunta after their 'negotiations' backfired and the crime boss they were hoping to get in with revealed that they were being traded to the empire. That is until Puppy used his newly acquired jetpack to propel himself with Reverb to the roof of the island villa...well actually 14 meters over the roof, but nothing a little tumble action could resolve.

Red Hand of Doom - Session 20: To Lordrhest

July 5-6

In the morning, the Daring Friends reached their destination and moored their boat. The roadblock was to the north, but they headed to a skirmish to the south.

Obstacles

Sitting down in front of the ship's holonet screen, Reverb scrubs the stains and machine smell out of his armor. "I'm glad I can finally take this helmet off in front of you all," he smiles. It's a common smile.

Red Hand of Doom - Session 15: Goodbye to Drellin's Ferry

July 3-4

In the morning, a dark-haired rider arrived from the east, Teyna, Lion of Brindol, in service to the Lord Jarmaath. She warned that while on patrol sweeping up old the Rhest Trail, they ran into a hobgoblin and ogre roadblock waylaying travelers.

Visions of Betrayal

We need to talk! Who’s Zanzu? How could you? The questions swirled around his mind as Reverb paced quickly through the new ship they had acquired from Jaden, knowing he had to confront Hest, but still not knowing what he would say. The tension in his neck and shoulders gripped him. It was worse than when he was face to face with that dark force wielder, or when Tarnok was ambushed by the Sith, or when their squad was almost eaten by that giant killer worm.

Red Hand of Doom - Session 15: Return to Drellin's Ferry

July 2

In the morning, Dameron woke with a fright and told his companions of the dream he had in the night, a vision from St. Aster. The hills were covered in every direction by hundreds of hobgoblins, goblins, worg riders, and their weapons of war. A massive red dragon flew overhead.

Puppy Dog Eyes

That was a close call, but we did it. We exfiltrated our target. It wasn’t the most precarious situation I’ve been in, but General Tarnok is usually there to guide us. Fortunately, Hest was there. Not only did he shield us from that red-robed force user, but the target trusts him. They always do. Something about those watery eyes…

The Daring Friends convinced Jaervellios to lead them to the forest giants.

Red Hand of Doom - Session 13: Skull Gorge

July 1

After decorating the front of Vraath Keep with the spiked heads of Koth’s minions, Dameron cast Sending to Captain Soranna and soon received a response.

Alone in the Dark

It was a dark and bumpy ride and when I say dark, I mean it was pitch black. The crate was vacuum-sealed and air-tight. I was prepared for the journey and eager to reunite with Hest. The truck hadn’t stopped moving since we departed and I was grateful that the driver made arrangements to relieve himself without stopping. As it was, I was already on my last canister of oxygen and we were still rolling steady.

Red Hand of Doom - Session 7: Iormel's Warehouse

June 23

Balthasar heard hissing coming from the south and was Enlarged by Camwise as he drank Potion of Giant Strength. Two green guard drakes attacked Camwise and the wizard fell but popped right back up and blinded a drake with Color Spray while defending himself with Shield. Dameron summoned his Spiritual Hammer and retaliated with a Guiding Bolt and Sacred Flames. Unable to bust the door open, Balthasar toppled bookshelves on the drakes. Camwise finished one with Shocking Grasp before falling to the other. Dameron put the other down with his Spiritual Hammer and revived Camwise but they all passed out from the poison that had been filling the cellar.

Red Hand of Doom - Session 6: Murder Mystery: Bones & Boots

Red Hand of Doom - Session 4: The North Tomb

June 19-20

The Daring Friends headed out toward the ruined tower early, bypassing Terrelton altogether. Dameron cooked dinner for them on the road, while Camwise chronicled their journey and made a pit stop by the shrine of St. Venton for inspiration on their travels.

Red Hand of Doom - Session 3: The Tombs

June 18

After Watt swore in the name of St. Aster that he had no intention of robbing and stealing, or worse, and that he was only interested in what was below the tower, we returned his belongings to him and agreed to let him accompany us below.
