July 2
In the morning, Dameron woke with a fright and told his companions of the dream he had in the night, a vision from St. Aster. The hills were covered in every direction by hundreds of hobgoblins, goblins, worg riders, and their weapons of war. A massive red dragon flew overhead.
Before they set off for Drellin’s Ferry, Dameron cast Sending and sent a message to Captain Sorrana.
After traveling throughout the uneventful day, it was evening when the Daring Friends reached Drellin’s Ferry. Drathgar led them across the ferry and they went to the Toll House and had Captain Sorrana gather the council at the Green Apple, along with many other townsfolk.
Speaker Wiston suggested they send the women, children, and elderly to Brindol. Iormel, bitter as ever, was reluctant to leave Drellin’s Ferry and abandon all they had built and acquired and suggested they stand and fight. Kellin suggested they try to parley with the enemy, offering it treasures in return for their lives and the safety of the town. Delora advised that the army would put Drellin’s Ferry to the torch and recommended evacuation as soon as possible for Brindol, which the Daring Friends implored the speaker to do.
In the end, the council was convinced to begin evacuating in the morning.
