Red Hand of Doom - Session 37: The Wizard Duel

In the morning, Camwise cast Contact Other Plane and questioned a being of fire about Aaqastal the Unnumbered, learning what he could for the upcoming duel.

Camwise met Aaqastal the Unnumbered in the field outside Brindol. Camwise cast Hold Person. Aaqastal stopped casting Confusion to Counterspell, but it failed, though he still resisted the Hold Person.

Aaqastal cast Chromatic Beam, burning Camwise with acid. Camwise cast Greater Invisibility on himself.

Camwise reappeared casting Hold Person but Aaqastal resisted. Aaqastal blased Camwise with a Cone of Cold.

Aaqastal cast Fireball and Camwise fell, rising from Death Ward.

With the duel over, Aaqastal shook Camwise’s hand and congratulated him for participating in the duel. He requested that the Daring Friends meet him at Red Magic & Sundries at their convenience.

Lord Jarmaath thanked them for saving the soldiers the previous night.

Later that day, they visited Aaqastal at Red Magic & Sundries where they were invited to peruse the wizard’s wares. They acquired Explorer's Chalk for Balthasar, a Gem of Brightness for Dameron, a Staff of Gravity Bending for Camwise, a Blue Bag of Tricks, and Immovable Rod, and a Blackbird Pie for Gruffudd, and a Quiver of the Hunt and a Wand of Paralysis for Jaervellios.
