After two days of flying, the Daring Friends arrived at Brindol as the sun was settings on the night of August 5. Only a few miles from Brindol's western border, the campfires revealed the massive size of the Red Hand horde waiting there. Brindolian workers were hastily retrieving the last of the wheat from the fields and some were being attacked by Red Hand skirmishers. It appeared the Daring Friends had returned just in time.
Dameron dropped down to the center field and hit two sets of Worg riders with a Lightning Bolt, killing one Worg. Nearby, Jaervellios finished the other Worg with an arrow and was shot by a goblin. A soldier fell to a goblin’s arrow. After casting Blur, Balthasar dropped down to the southern field and threw his javelin of Lightning at a hill giant before trading blows. Camwise dropped down into the north field and cast Hypnotic Pattern on a nearby hill giant. Gruffudd cast Call Lightning and struck down a Worg. Dameron dropped the two surviving goblins with another Lightning Bolt. Balthasar summoned the spirit from Knight’s Fellowship armor. Camwise blasted a Worg with a Thunderbolt. Gruffudd dropped a goblin with Call Lightning. Dameron dropped a far-off Worg with three scorching Rays. Jaervellios dropped the rider and shot the farther Worg with arrows. A soldier fell to a goblin in the field. Balthasar drew his Thunderblade and blasted the hill giant. Camwise dropped the last nearby goblin with Magic Missiles and called on his owl rider to pick him up. A soldier fell to a goblin in the field. Gruffudd hit the last Worg in the field with a Lightning Bolt. Dameron finished the last goblin and was picked up by his owl rider, with Jaervellios right behind him. Balthasar smashed the hill giant and his Knight assisted the soldiers. A soldier fell to a goblin’s blade. Camwise landed in between the goblins and fleeing soldiers in the southern field, and struck a goblin with his staff, as his last Mirror Image was destroyed. Gruffudd blasted the last Worg to pieces with a Lightning Bolt. Dameron dropped down next to a Worg in the southern field. As Balthasar slew the hill giant, his Knight flanked the Worg, slaying it and its goblin rider. Circling around a Worg, Camwise blasted two Worgs with a Cone of Cold, killing one Worg. As the other Worg tried to flee, Camwise dropped it with his quarterstaff, sending its goblin rider tumbling. Gruffudd blasted the last goblin apart with Thunderwave. Dameron cast Mass Healing Word on the fleeing soldiers. Jaervellios dropped the last two goblins with arrows, and the remaining soldiers made it back to safety as the Daring Friends killed the hypnotized hill giant. After clearing the field of skirmishers, the Daring Friends flew back to Brindol. Camwise visited Red Magic & Sundries where he accepted Aaqastal’s challenge to a duel. Aaqastal said that, as the challenged, Camwise could choose between a duel of war or power. Camwise chose a war duel.
