Brad

Human Barbarian Warrior/Expert

Growing up with a nomadic tribe made Brad resilient. It wasn't an easy life, but it was filled with joy. When his tribe was slaughtered during his absence, Brad wondered if his actions were to blame. He dreams of avenging his family and friends.

When Brad wandered into town to fetch some supplies for his clan, his attention was immediately drawn to a fishergirl. She was curled up by a crate, sobbing in the fading light of evening. "Hey", Brad greeted her. When she looked up, he could see she was bruised. When he asked what happened and who had done that to her, she pointed to the window of a nearby building. It seemed that whoever lived there had hurt her, and she needed the book on the desk, visible from the window. Without thinking, Brad climbed up a nearby drainpipe and swung into the window. Picking up the book, he held it up for the fishergirl to see. Visibly shocked by his bravado, she nodded meekly. Brad took the book down the stairs and exited through the front door. When he gave the fishergirl the book, she thanked him and said, "They'll be coming soon. We must run." Brad followed the fishergirl as she fled the town, leading him into the marsh. She said there was a boat they could take. As they made their way through the marsh, lanterns appeared in the darkness. They were being followed. Their pursuers were spread out, so Brad hung back and dealt with them one by one. The fourth and final pursuer managed to cut him before Brad silenced him. Fortunately, it was a minor cut, and the fishergirl bandaged it up when he caught up with her. She explained that the book was a ledger of all the slaves that were being bought and sold and that a new shipment would be arriving at a nearby tower around midnight. Brad insisted that the slavers must be stopped, but the fishergirl was too scared to accompany him, so she waited by the boat. Brad continued to the tower alone, where he first dispatched the two guards in the shed before dealing with the three slavers in the tower. Fortunately, he was able to deal with them all one at a time. When the shipment came, he used the gold he'd found in the tower to purchase the slaves. He then freed them and gave them the guard's weapons. Together, they turned on the shippers. With the slaves freed, he returned to the fishergirl, and they spent the next two days together by the fisherboat. When he returned to his clan, he found that their camp had been attacked and torched. There were no survivors.
