The companions gathered for the Emerald Grotto Race, where they were competing only against Ayo and her party. One of the Elders gave each of the contestants a potion of water breathing that would last an hour.
Elder Ushru charged us with being the first to recover the Emerald Eye amulet from the deepest cavern of the Emerald Grotto.
After making their way past entangling sea grass, the companions found a hidden cave containing a potion of healing and a spell scroll of Thunderwave.
After defeating a swarm of killer guppies, the companions encountered a giant shark with the Emerald Eye amulet hanging from a rope around its neck. While the rest of the companions distracted the shark, Tymlor used Mage Hand to retrieve the amulet. The shark took a bite out of him, and he was revived by one of Ayo’s companions. Tymlor sent the badly wounded shark into its death throes with a Mind Sliver, causing it to thrash about until it collapsed the southern wall of the chamber, revealing a bright light coming from a hidden chamber beyond.
ACHU retrieved a golden pendant from a crystal pedestal in the center of the sunlit garden cavern.
The light around the pedestal faded as a spectral figure in the form of a male human donned in leather armor, a shield, and a tattered red cape pleaded, "I am imprisoned. Please help me."
The companions had a vision of tumbling through a vortex of golden light into a pitch-black expanse. The warrior was shackled to the ground by disgusting strands of a fleshy, crimson substance. He sobbed, "Moon Weaver, I beg of you. Guide those with the power to save me to the site where first I prayed to you. Oh, gods, there you are! My name is Alyxian. I am lost in darkness. Long ago, I prayed to the Change Bringer in the heart of a temple of evil. I beg you, take my jewel and...Save me. Please."
The companions awoke and departed from the Grotto with Ayo’s party and presented the amulet to Elder Ushru who declared them Jigow's Champions of Merit!
The companions were awarded 100 gold coins and a free night’s lodging at the Unbroken Tusk Inn, where they invited Ayo and her party to join them for food and drink.
