The companions settled into a nearby tavern for a bite and were greeted by the innkeeper, a friendly orc who rented them rooms for 2 silver coins and mentioned some of the festival’s contests including an underwater race to the emerald grotto, a maze, and pie eating contest, the latter being pies of her own baking.
After their meal, the companions wandered around Jigow and found an apothecary, where A.C.H.U. purchased a potion of healing for 50 gold coins.
Noting the nearby temple of the Luxon, the companions returned to the inn for the night.
In the morning, Tok and Tymlor entered the pie-eating contest for 5 silver coins each. Tymlor was only able to eat one pie, but Tok ate 4, tying for 1st place with a drow, and winning a Medal of the Meat Pie.
Tymlor entered the Riddles and Rhymes event and won a Medal of Wit.
Tymlor was then approached by Galsariad, a drow from Rosohna, who praised his efforts and encouraged the companions to enter the Emerald Grotto race, the grand finale. Galsariad’s companion is Irvan Wastewalker and their leader is Ayo, a water genassi who competed in a swimming race against A.C.H.U.
A.C.H.U. won the swimming race and was awarded a Medal of the Conch.
Tok and Tymlor entered the maze contest and were each awarded a Medal of the Maze.
Tymlor, Tok, and A.C.H.U. entered the Horizonback Turtle riding contest. Tok and A.C.H.U. fell off their turtles and A.C.H.U. was almost trampled to death. Tymlor won and was awarded a Medal of the Horizonback.
