The Daring Friends entered Drellin's Ferry; Dameron of St. Aster's Order, Balthasar the brave Dragonwhyte, the wise Camwise Gnarly, and Funguy. They made their way to the Green Apple Inn where they were served by Tharma the hill dwarf. There they learned that Ma Tem’s child Bette had gone missing four days ago.
The Daring Friends had Drathgar the Ferryman bring them west where they paid Ma Tem their condolences and learned where Better had last been seen. Picking up Bette’s tracks, they followed into the woods until they saw that she had been captured by Black Dagger goblins. Camwise tried to negotiate with Lyrk, but a battle ensued, leaving the two of the goblins dead and the rest captured. Having freed Bette, Camwise agreed to let them live, learning that they worked for a Bhargest demon. That evening they were attacked by boars that were fleeing stirges. The Daring Friends slew the stirges and the boars. They returned to Ma Tem’s where they were welcomed in for the night.
