The companions infiltrated Fort Venture, only to find that Bol'bara had been possessed by her patron, Trush, and killed all the occupants. They confronted the warlock, and eventually subdued her, after which Morgdid and her returned to Urzin while they searched the fort for military intelligence and anything else that might be helpful. Blackavar freed the imprisoned guard dogs and they debated what to do with the prisoner, Alonne Frith, a follower of Ceratos.
After questioning Alonne and ascertaining how evil he was, they decided to put him to death; Tymlor put him to sleep before slitting his throat.
At night, four guards returned to the fortress and attacked the companions. After taking heavy damage from Tymlor's Fire Bolts, the guards' leader chased the drow and shot him down. The companions were not able to revive him, however, in the morning they found him covered in moss and reads, but very much alive.
