Thunsheer 30-31, 835
The Clockwork companions departed the vibrant city in the early evening, entering the vast desert. As they traveled on the packed sand road, they passed the occasional caravan.
After two hours they stopped briefly while Tik cast Find Familiar and summoned Leery the sprite.
A short while later they saw a campfire in the distance and sent their familiars to investigate. Learning that there was a fiery humanoid, they decided to continue on their way.
It was late into the night when they found a place to set camp out of sight from the road where Tymlor cast Tiny Hut.
From within the safety of the Tiny Hut, ACHU saw a creature in the distance and woke Sarielle so she could don her armor, letting the others sleep. The creature was humanoid with four arms ending in long spikes. It approached the Tiny Hut and began scraping its arm spikes against it, waking everyone inside.
Sarielle summoned her (Tiefling) Echo behind it and got its attention. The creature attacked, destroying the Echo. ACHU cast light on a pebble, peeked out of the Tiny Hut, and tossed the pebble to shed light into the darkness outside.
The creature fled from Sarielle’s constantly reappearing Echoes. After Tik and Sarielle gave chase and killed it, they all continued their rest.
In the morning, as they were breaking camp, they saw a blue dragon flying overhead, heading west. It seemed to land a few hours away.
Late in the morning, the Clockwork companions continued their march north.
About four hours later, they saw a small fort ahead and Tymlor sent his owl to investigate. When it returned, it reported that a very large fiery humanoid was the only living being, all others reduced to scorch marks.
They approached the fort from different sides, attempting to draw the fire giant out of the fort. They were just able to see the top of the creature over the fifteen-foot-high walls.
ACHU cast Spiritual Weapon and began attacking it while Tik blasted it from a distance while invisible. Eventually, it lept over the large double doors in front of the fort and was engaged by Sarielle and her Echoes, Hasted by Tymlor.
It smashed Sarielle into unconsciousness, but they were quickly revived by ACHU, and continued the assault into the giant was slain.
Searching the giant, they found 213 gold coins, a suit of human-sized plate armor, a Sending Stone, and a magical dagger emanating necromancy.
They used the Sending Stone to report their findings back to the Hand of Ord.
After a short rest, they gathered their things and headed back toward Ank’Harel.
When they reached their campsite from the previous night, Tymlor cast Tiny Hut and they rested for the night.
