Call of the Netherdeep - Session 13-14: Entering Bazzoxan

The next day, they continued on and by midday, they could see tall black stone spires of Betrayer’s Rise jutting from the rusty orange mountains. As they drew closer, they could see a vast gate blocking all entry to the military outpost of Bazzoxan. The structures beyond the walls of the massive gate, patrolled by soldiers of the Aurora Watch, were crumbling and desolate.

As the guards were escorting them to the barracks to see Taskhand Verin Thelyss, they were called to fend off an attack of Gibbering Mouthers. They met Verin during the battle and he told them to meet him later at the barracks.

The companions helped Bautha Dyrr heal the injured at the infirmary.

They visited the dilapidated Temple of Avandra the Change Bringer was converted into a garden maintained by Foghome the Firbolg of Melora. Tymlor hung around to do some research.

The companions regrouped at the barracks to speak with Taskhand Verin Thelyss in the war room, who shared that Expedition of the Library of the Cobalt Soul was interested in exploring Betrayers' Rise, Aloysia, an elf from the Consortium of the Vermilion Dream tried to bribe Aurora Watch to escort her into Betrayers' Rise, and Prolix from Ank'Harel is also researching Betrayers' Rise.

Tymlor and Blackavar returned to the temple to meditate with Foghome and had a vision during the services. They saw Alyxian suffering in the garden until five silhouettes approached and comforted him before they marched off to war.

The companions regrouped at Bazzoxan's inn, The Ready Room.

At the Ready Room, Tymlor and Blackavar met Question, a tiefling member of the Cobalt Soul researching the Calamity, who showed them her sketchbook and offered them a place to stay. ACHU and Tok joined them. Before leaving, Tok confronted Aloysia.

On the way to Question’s apartment, the companions met Ayo and her party, who shared that they had been hired by Aloysia to escort her into Betrayer’s Rise. They refused to join forces. Tymlor spoke privately with Galsariad and repaid his debt.
