Red Hand of Doom - Session 4: The North Tomb

June 19-20

The Daring Friends headed out toward the ruined tower early, bypassing Terrelton altogether. Dameron cooked dinner for them on the road, while Camwise chronicled their journey and made a pit stop by the shrine of St. Venton for inspiration on their travels.

It had been dark for over an hour when they saw the tower, but they could see smoke rising from it in the starry sky.

Balthasar noticed three sets of eyes watching them. While the other continued on, Funguy snuck around and found Zazz with a dwarf and a human, all with crossbows at the ready. Frustrated by Gunguy, they ran off.

Approaching the tower, the Daring Friends saw there were sentries posted. Engaging the sentries, their leader introduced himself as Sergeant Scar. He shared that they worked for Baron Hargyl Trask, a well-known troublemaker and ruler of Singing Cross also known as Songvale.

They allowed Camwise to enter the tower alone so that he could document the writing on the walls of the tomb, but the wizard emerged visibly shaken and in a hurry to leave the place. He said they had already pillaged the northern tomb, which belonged to the leader of the Fangs of the Dragon, a paladin of St. Gregory. He said the guards’ leader was down there and was a scary and intimidating man who was upset at his presence and crushed his arcane focus in his fist.

They returned to Terrelton and spent the night in The Dry Throat.

After traveling throughout the day, the Daring Friends returned to Drellins Ferry at night. Upon entering the town, they spoke with Sergeant Hyrst, who described Baron Hargyl Trask as being rotten and coming from a rotten family. He also said that Jarmath, the Lord of Brindol, wouldn’t allow them to take land so far west.

They said their farewells and retired to the Green Apple Inn.
